About Midori Jewelry...

The ingredients mixed up for one of Midori Jewelry’s signature gemstone concoctions finds one hopping across the globe with opals from Peru, amethysts from Brazil, and silver from Turkey. Hawaii is the final stop on this trip around the world and is home base for designer Traci Morinaga, who decided to take an unexpected detour from law school and turn her ten year hobby into a business when motherhood beckoned.

Midori means green in Japanese. Midori is a melon-flavored liquor recognized for its trademark green color and well-known for its sugary taste and little kick in the finish. That’s how Traci looks at her beaded treasures: the sweet-colored gemstones sparkle and beckon, and once worn, will satisfy any jewelry lover’s palette. The designer’s style is classic with a contemporary flair and a tiny Asian twist that can last through the seasons. Midori Jewelry is fun, fresh, and always feminine.

Traci is a graduate of the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and like President Obama, Ebay Founder Pierre Omidyar, and actress Kelly Preston, she is also a graduate of Punahou School.

Traci's inspiration is derived from a spectrum of sources: the latest Vogue to a Margaret Atwood poem to a swatch of fabric… perhaps a lithograph at the Honolulu Academy of Arts, or maybe a scenic view atop Maui's Haleakala.

"Creating beautiful jewelry in Hawaii comes naturally--inspiration is never too far away.”

This website is dedicated to the spunky and fabulous woman—her free spirit keen on having beautiful adventures. Together, we will meander down the road less traveled.
